Fresh Petal Sugar Lip Treatment

Sugar Treatment in PetalFresh is a skincare company equipped to target the real types of skin concerns every day women have, combatting them with a mix of organic ingredients and modern technology.

The brand is synonymous with the belief that lip care is just as important as looking after your eye area, so they brought to the table a range of possibly the most luxurious lip tints, scrubs and treatments you will ever find.

Sugar Treatment in PetalOne of the most famous of their favourites is the Lip Treatments, right from the original formula through to shades of Rose, Coral and Tulip which are sure to compliment any skin tone.

Todays focus is on the Fresh Petal Sugar Lip Treatment.

Sugar Treatment in Petal

This is the product to replace all other of your all in one lip products; it is hydrating due to it's base of sugar (a natural humectant preventing moisture loss), full of oils and packs on the prettiest of colour. In addition to all of that, this soft stick of lux colour even protects against UVA / UVB rays with an SPF of 15.

Whether you buy this in the UK (Fresh's only UK store is on Marylebone High Street) or in the US (as I did via Sephora) you can expect to pay around £13 / $22.

I love this product's packaging (a screw cap casing made of metal) it feels like it's ready for the long haul, whether that's in your hand baggage on your latest getaway or lodged between your Kindle and car keys in your hand bag on the way to work, you've got everything you need! Just maybe don't leave this lip product in the heat, it can get kinda goopy!

You can expect wear to last for hours, and you don't lose that feeling of hydration. The finish is sheer and aims to tint your lips not overwhelm them it simply and subtly enhances what you already have, whatever colour you choose!

Having tried their lip products I am now eager to delve further into Fresh.

Let me know if you have tried anything from Fresh?

Make Up Forever Aqua Matics

Make Up Forever Aqua MaticsMakeup Forever is a brand which I have found incredibly hard to get a hold of in the UK. When I went to the States, & on one of my many visits to Sephora I picked up some of the stand out Make Up Forever essentials.

Included in my basket were the Make UP Forever Aqua Matics.

The current collection of Aqua Matics consists of 10 waterproof and smudge proof shades.I only picked up two, (the rest of the display was empty, which led me to have high expectations...) and having said that I probably will be ordering more. I think the two shades I did pick up (ME-54 & ME-50) are perhaps the most wearable and versatile of the group.

Priced at $21 in the US, you won't be disappointed with what they deliver, but I have seen very similar products creeping out on the high street which could be dupe-able though!

Described as a long lasting eye shadow in a twist up stick, the product itself really does feel so soft and smooth to apply to your eyelids. You can even blend this out if you like, which would be great to try with one of the more 'electric' colours but just note that you would have to work quite quickly. Once these colours are applied, they are there for the long haul.

Top swatch is ME 50 Metalic Golden Taupe, bottom swatch is ME-54 Metallic Pinky Beige.

The colours are shimmery (this maybe due to these two shades being marketed as 'Metallic') and because they do have quite a bit of glitter within the formula this is all that comes away if you rub over the application area, which can mean glittery fingers but apart from that the pay off is fantastic.

So portable, travel friendly and easy to apply these are a must have for anyone who wants to apply eye makeup without the need for mirrors and fancy brushes to last hour after hour. I have worn these on the water line, as an eye liner on the lid, and all over the lid so far and can't see me getting bored!

In Summary;

  • Make Up Forever products always live up to their description and product spec in my experience this was no exception.
  • This is a very easy to use makeup tool which you can be used so many which ways on the eyes to change looks over and over, not only on their own but added into your favourite eye makeup trends.
  • The staying power is phenomenal, but the colour pigmented.

Polish Picks for Summer

Summer is the prime oportunity to get colourful with your nails, and there are some really fabulous effects and trends you can now incorporate with them.

This post features the six top colours I've gravitated to this season.

Top 6 Summer Polish Picks

Barry M has really made an impact with their Gelly Hi Shine nail colours again this year, and my purse is definitely not complaining either. Half of my picks are from Barry M and I think that says a lot because I do have a draw of OPI products that I could have used!

Barry M Polish Picks:

'Sugar Apple' Gelly Nail Polish #21 (£3.99), this is a great dupe for Essie's famous 'Mint Candy Apple'.

'Rose Hip' Gelly Nail Polish #20 (£3.99), beautiful elegant pink similar, but maybe a little pinker to Essie's 'Fiji'.

'Prickly Pear' Gelly Nail Polish #6 (£3.99), a substantial lilac in just one coat!

Both Superdrug & Boots have great Barry M Gelly nail polish offers on at the moment.

Also as a side note the new Summer Matte colours from Barry M look just as impressive!

Who has tried them?!

Top 6 Summer Polish Picks

Essie Polish Picks:

'Marshmallow' 024 (£8.21), I picked this up from the states (it was on my list of many...) and I haven't been disappointed in my usage of it. If you want to look tanned, wear this. If you want a decent white that pays off in 2 coats, wear this.

'Bikini So Teeny' 764 (£7.99), a gorgeous cornflower blue that compliments any skin tone, it also has a shimmer running through the formula. It's one of those that people always ask about...

Ciaté Mini Paint Pot Pick:

Never have I brought a full sized Ciaté nail polish, but this doesn't mean i don't love them! I was lucky enough to receive the Ciaté Advent calendar last year, and it's such a perfect gift for any nail polish lover. You can't be annoyed when advent is over as you are left with 24 gorgeous colours and this is where the lovely 'Hoopla' entered my life.

'Hoopla' (£9.00 full size) - this zingy peachy, pink looks gorgeous on the nails and again great for tanning time. I can't find the full size online and where it's in stock but maybe try your favourite eBay seller (I think this was a part of their fairground collection)?

Let me know your top nail polish picks for summer!
